Movie Collector is a CD/DVD Collection program that helps you catalog your collection of DVDs, VHS tapes, laserdiscs, etc…
Browse your collection by title, year, genre, actors, etc… or use the Thumbnail View to view your cover images. Sort and group on any field, print lists and export to HTML, CSV or XML. Use the integrated Loan Manager to track which DVDs you loaned and to whom.

Adding DVDs to the database

e frontier’s Anime Studio Pro 5.5 is a phenomenal and affordable tool for the animator in all of us. Have you ever created a 2D drawing and wanted to animate like it’s done in a 3D program? In this extraordinary version of Anime Studio Pro you do it by adding a bone structure directly to the character and then animate it in frames. This is a feature that competing 2D animation packages do not have, and that for me makes this software invaluable.

You can use pre-built content or create your own either in this program or import from another program. It’s a vector based system so there’s no degrading of the content at any time. There’s also the importation of 3D content which can be rotated and manipulated just like a 3D program will do. You can animate virtually anything and that’s important. Along with that are the advanced timeline features which include inverse kinematics. Inverse Kinematics helps to smooth out the in between areas of the animation giving a more realistic feel to the overall movement of the character. Just like other animation programs, you can add sound to it to produce professional results. You can import Photoshop content and animate, then export it out again in a variety of formats including swf, avi, and so on. Then there are the special effects including particle effects such as energy cloud, explosion, rain, smoke, and more. You can even create credits for your cartoon or film. There are a number of camera options to choose from. Many of the animation options can be reached directly in the timeline instead of accessing them through the menu saving valuable time. You can also preview as you go along.

All in all it’s a great program to own and use, and it’s got a lot of potential. I would like to see the interface combined and I suppose we’re all getting spoiled when other software programs are going that direction. It’s economical and great for students and seasoned professionals alike.
